My name is Courtney Raymond. I am currently a 23-year-old Charleston, SC based artist, pursuing my M.S. in Biomedical Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina.

So what am I doing?

I have been making art since I was 14, drawing with graphite and charcoal until about 18, when I started to paint. Art has always been there. After years of commissioning artwork, I never truly felt connected to the pieces I created.

Once I had started working in the food and beverage industry, my art fell off.I worked nearly full time through my undergrad, and there never seemed to be any room for creativity. After graduating from UGA in 2024, I took a gap year. I moved in with my beautiful partner, Emily, in Charleston. I snagged an SA job at The Ordinary, where I studied my ass off and worked my way up to becoming a full time server. This job fueled me with inspiration, and I decided to blend my work and my art.

I love food, I love the people, and I love art. It only made sense, and the connection formed.

Also, I'm a young scientist! Haven't done much research yet, but we're getting there. I'll be Professor Doctor Artist Courtney Raymond in no time! (help)

I am going to shamelessly plug my amazing parents who have supported every single decision I've made with gusto. Along with Emily, who paints color into every facet of our life together. And our dogs Baxter and Cannon because duh.
